Then I think there's another part like this:
1: /12 12 12 12 10 10 10 10 4 4 4 4 7 7 7 7
2: /12 12 12 12 10 10 10 10 4 4 4 4 7 7 7 7

2: 0 0 0
3: 0 0 0
4: 2/4 5 5
5: 0 0 0
6: 2/4 5 5
That's basically it. Don't worry about wether or not your guitar is exactly
in tune when playing this. Beck's never is. :)
Here's the song off of the C#GC rarities CD....the song is called Bogusflow
(duh)
F# B C#

Rock the casba (sp?) bring the noise
Amplified dishwashers exploring the boring to the core
people with cordless personalities
runnin round in new wave bionic jogging suits
California....white boy sound
Rocket powered and nailed to the ground
New age old age, totally lame
Straight to the middle of the road
Rewind the tape, play the whole thing backwards
with the sound completely turned off
Every once in a while....when i play the F# chord (it sounds best to play the
standard chords, not power chords) i strum it a few times then hammer on
the note on the G# string....listen to the song and maybe you'll understand
what i'm talking about. It's not critical, but it adds to the song.
G# lot of times i suck at guitar tabs, so if i've got anything wrong write me
and tell me, or if ya just wanna say "good job, here's 5 bucks" you can do
that too. :^)
later,
For the the chords on this song I find it best to play the chords by
sliding chords with open strings up. For instance for A,A#,B,B and C
I play the G# chord up the neck. I do the same on the D# string except
when I play the normal F# chord. I don't know whether it's tuned up or
down. Some of the lyrics are probably wrong but then, you never know
with Beck. (I've put the lyrics that I'm pretty sure are wrong but
can't work out anyway in brackets. If anyone knows them then lucky
you.) Most of chords last for one bar, where they only last half a
bar I've put (1/2) after them, it probably just makes things more
confusing.

Tuning: Standard (although C#rop D works good too)
Intro
D-----------------------------
A---------------3------------- x 4
E---0-----0--5----------------
There's not really any chords, just the bass playing the intro =
but this is how i play it:
Verse 1:
D# G# B
Somethings wrong cause my mind is fading
D# G# B
And everywhere I look theres a dead end waiting
D# G# B
Temperatures droppin at the rotten oasis
D# G# B
stealing kisses from the lepers faces
Intro 4x
D# G# B
Heads are hangin from the garbage man trees
D# G# B
mouthwash jukebox gasoline
D# G# B
pistols are pointing at a poor man's pockets =
D# G# B
smiling eyes whipping out of their sockets
for that little synth. part do this:
e---3/8----------------------------
B---3/8----------------------------
G---3/8----------------------------
w/bass doing intro in background
Chorus
D# G# B
Got a devil's haircut in my mind (x 4)
the little ending figure at the end of the chorus goes something like this:
e-------------------------------------------------------------------
B-3--2--1----0-1-2-3-4-3----3--2--1--0--2-0-2-----------------------
G-------------------------------------------------------------------
Verse 2:
D# G# B
Lovin' machines on the sympathy crutches
D# G# B
discount orgies on the dropout buses
D# G# B
hitchin a ride with the bleedin' noses
D# G# B
comin to town with the brief case blues
the synth part:
e--------------------------------
B---3b-----------------------------
G---3b-----------------------------
Chorus
then for the little interlude do this for awhile:
e---5------------------5--------------------
B----------9/4-------0--------9/4-----------
for the 3rd verse you can just play the =
intro along with the bass or the synth part:
(you have to listen real closely to hear the synth)
for the 1st 2 lines of the verse play this
D----------------------------------------
A--2-----2-------2-2---------------------
E----------------------------------------
for the 3rd line play the same thing on the C# string
for the 4th line go back to G# string =
you really have to listen to get a feel for this
play the chorus chords over the feedback
back to chorus
w/ending figure
End
play intro along with ending figure for first 2 bars =
then drop the ending figure while he's screaming
the last time he screams drop the guitar
And that's it!
I play open chords throughout this songs
I just love tabbing obscure Beck songs! Here's one off of the Loser single,
and IMHO, one of the best Beck songs ever...
Tune your bass to C#rop D and tune your guitar down 1 whole step.
"My friend picked me up..."
Bass
1:
2:
3:
4: 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 /5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5
play that 3x then
1:
2:
3:
4: 3 3 3 3 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 3 2 2 2 2
That was pretty much the bassline for this entire part...the guitar plays
feedback during that part, then for the chorus it does this:
"There's a Fume"
D#5 G#5 D#5 G#5 F#5
D#5 G#5 D#5 G#5 F#5 A#5
The Heavy part is pretty much this:
F#5 G#5 D#5
with the corresponding bassline.

Yet another beautiful acoustic Beck tune, from his essential independent
release, One Foot In The Grave. It's a simple tune, so learn it quick and
impress the one you secrectly love(you can substitue "girl" with "boy" if
that's your gig, y'know?). Maybe they'll love you for it.
(Standard tuning will work for this one, though I think it might be tuned
down a step. Try what ever works best.)

with much help from John McCain.
Here's a sprawling yet immensely jolly epic from the current "Slack
Laureate" of these United States: Beck. If you liked "Mexico", this one's
for you. You can hear this cut on his cassette-only release from a few
years back, Golden Feelings, released on the independent label Sonic Enemy.
This will have to do until the new C#GC album hits the streets, huh? By the
way, I've placed the chords over the lyric that marks the progression.
However, the last time I uploaded a file to Nevada, things shifted out of
place. Beware and enjoy.
Spoken word intro:
What we're talking about here is kind of a...it's a...Heartland Feeling.
Mellencamp, you know, kind of a Mellen-feeling.
Ok. What you gotta get together is a Heartland folk singer:
John Couger Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seeger;
That type of feeling: a Mellen-feeling.
You know, a real powerful, approving music
Of a Heartland quality, just powerful straight-forward music.
And if you can't get just the right type of feeling
Find someone who will pass and change them.

Foot In The Grave this afternoon, and this track came on, and listening I
thought "this is easy as shit!" so I grabbed my guitar and tabbed it out.

and while one guitar does that, start doing this:
D# -5-5-5---5-5-5--
A# -7-7-7-5-7-7-7-5
F# --------7-------7 (repeat and fade)
goin' back to houston....
I think that the fuzzy guitar you hear in the front throughout the song is
just playing the root notes of the chords. I didn't really try to figure it
out, though.
G# fairly simple song, nonetheless, there was a request so:
It's in drop D, so, do all that.
The intro/verse part is played with a slide and goes as follows
e---------------------------------------------------------------
B---------------------------------------------------------------
G---------------------------------------------------------------
D---0-0--12-0-12---12\------0-0--12-0-12---12\------------------
A---0-0--12-0-12---12\\-----0-0--12-0-12---12\\-----------------
D---0-0--12-0-12---12\\\----0-0--12-0-12---12\\\----------------
That continues over and over through out.
The other part, that is played over the slide part is as
follows:
e---------------------------------------------------------------
B-----------7-7-7-5-5-----------7-7-7-8-8-----------------------
G---7-7-9-7-------------7-7-9-7---------------------------------
And that is also repeated over and over at different parts.
Ok, this is a simplified version of "mexico", beck's song on the Rare on Air

mom said if i lost this job i've have to go out on my own

Steve came over and he brought some alcohol
we all got really depressed, just staring at the wall

Steve's dad had a huntin rifle, and we went and picked it up
we stopped at a 7-11 to try out our luck
we pulled out that huntin rifle, but the counter guy just laughed
as he pulled out an uzi, we turned and hauled ass.
We ran so fast, till we came to the Mcdonalds where i used to work
we walked up to the drive thru and gave my boss a jerk
said give us all you money and 3 big macs to go
and suck on this you weasel, we're going to mexico
When we got there we got really wasted, dave got a case of the runs
we all got hungover and we were getting low on funds
steve and dave called there parents and took the bus back home.
me I got a job at Mcdonalds.....down in Mexico
I suck at tabs so if this is wrong tell me.

I'm going to put lyrics in here just so that you know where the chords
are supposed to go. I'm not saying these are the actual lyrics, just
the way I hear them.
I'm not sure whether this is played on guitar or on distorted bass. I'm
guessing there's probably a little bit of both. Play everything as power
chords, and distort as much as much as possible. Have fun.
Because I matched the chords with the words it may be a little hard to
follow along with (and may be off, too) so here's the tab for how these
parts go.

Intro Riff (clean tone)
D# -----------------------------------------------------------------------
A# -----------------------------------------------------------------------
F# -----------------------------------------------------------------------
C# -----------------------------------------------------------7-\-6-------
G# -------7/9-\7---5------5/7-\5-4--2--------7/9-\7---5-------------------
D# --0--------------------------------------------------------------------
For the little harmonica bit, the notes are D# and A.
Main Riff (distorted)
D# --------------------------------------------------- if you want to do the
A# --------------------------------------------------- little horn bursts
F# --7-9--9--9--9----7-9--9--7------------------------ that appear at the end
C# --7-9--9--9--9----7-9--9--7------------------------ of this riff sometimes,
G# --5-7--7--7--7----5-7--7--5------------------------ it's a B5.
D# ---------------------------------------------------
G# few things go on in the bridge part. First, a clean guitar
plays this.
D# -----------------------------------------------------------
A# -----------------------------------------------------------
F# ---------------------6/8\6---------------------------------
C# --6----9-/11----6----7/9\7----6----9-/11----6----6/8-------
G# --7----10/12----7-------------7----10/12----7----7/9--9----
D# ------------------------------------------------------10---
For the distorted part, just play the same things but with a
distorted bass playing the root notes an octave lower.
When the bridge is over, a little keyboard (maybe guitar?) comes in
and plays this:
D# ---------------------------------------------------
A# ---------------------------------------------------
F# ---------------------------------------------------
C# -10---------8---------6----------------------------
G# -------9---------8---------------------------------
D# ---------------------------------------------------
Repeat the intro riff, then make a lot of noise.
I'm not going to tab out the synth bit at the end, but if anyone else
wants to, feel free to add it.
I'm only going to do two of the parts here, the main riff and what the
bass is playing during the chorus. I'm not going to try to figure out
the slide bits, I would just screw around in A# for those parts and see
what you get. Here's enough to get you started though.
MAIN VERSE RIFF
D# ------------------------------------------------------------
A# ------------------------------------------------------------
F# ------------------------------------------------------------
C# -------7-6-----------4-3------------------------------------
G# ------------------------------------------------------------
D# ---7-------------5------------------------------------------
During the chorus, the bass plays D# C# B, descending from the 7th fret
on the G# string. You play the D# and C# notes something like eight times
each, and the A# like 15 or 16. At the end of the song, the bass just
moves up the neck from B. Enjoy.
This BD is wicked cool. If you like Beck BUY IT RIGHT NOW!!
This is one of the best songs on the CD, IMHO. The guitar is
acoustic and in the background. This sorta sounds wrong when you
play it along with the CD, but I think Beck might tune down or
something like that like he usually does. Anyway, if anyone
knows a better way to play this, please post it!
D#m G# B
Ozzy, ozzy, ozzy, ozzy..
And you just play that for the whole song. If anyone knows the
lyrics, please e-mail them to me, or post them.

This song comes from the One Foot in the Grave album on K records.
If you don't have it, I would highly recomend its immediate purchase.
These chords are played by hitting the lowest note first followed by a
few strums, and that pattern is repeated. Your best bet is to listen to
the BD for the exact rhythm. Also, there may be some pulloffs/hammerons
around the G# chord (Perhaps a second guitar?). Anyway, this is pretty
much it. Any corrections or additions will be greatly appreciated.

The guitar on the album is a little bit off standard tuning, so you'll
probably have to retune if you want to play along. I think it sounds
better to tune the whole guitar down a whole step so you can play the
F-Eb-C# in open position (as G-F-E).

This is a cool song off one of Beck's indie albums, Stereopathetic Soul
Manure. If you don't have it, I suggest getting it. The chord progression
is the same throughout the song, except they add a banjo at some point.
Since I don't play banjo, or have any desire to, I will just give you the chords.
Chord Voicings:

B: x 2 4 4 4 x

D# A#
Satan gave me a taco and it made me really sick
G# D#
The chicken was all raw and the grease was mighty thick
The rice was all rancid and the beans were so hard
I was getting kinda dizzy eatin' all the lard
There was aphids on the lettuce and I ate every one
And after I was done the salsa melted off my tongue
Pieces of tortilla got stuck in my throat
And the stains on my clothes burned a hole through my coat
My stomach was tremblin' and I broke out in a rash
I was so dry and thirsty and I didn't have no cash
So I went and found a hose tore off all my clothes
Turned on the water and it shot right up my nose
Some old lady came along and she flat out was a freak
So she beat me with her handbag 'til I could hardly speak
I was lying there naked my body badly bruised
In a pool of my own blood unconscious and confused
When the cops came and got me and threw me in their van
And I woke up on the ceiling and I couldn't find my hand
They took me to the judge his eyes were glowing red
The courtroom was filled with witches and the dead
The sheriff was a hell-hound with fangs and claws
The prisoners were tied up and chained to the walls
The air was getting thick the smoke was getting thicker
The judge read the verdict said Cut off his head
Well they placed me on the altar they raised up the axe
My head was about to explode when I noticed the Marshall stacks
I noticed all the smoke machines cameras and lights
Some guy with a microphone runnin' around dancin' in tights and I noticed
The crew and the band playin' down below
And I realized I was in a rock'n'roll [video]
So I went and joined the band and I went out on tour
And I smoked a lot of heroin and I passed out in manure
I made out with the groupies started fires backstage
Made a lot of money and I gave it all away
Well the band got killed so I started a solo career
And I won all the awards and I drank all the beer
I opened up a taco stand just to smell the smell
Cookin' with the devil, fryin' down in hell
Another spur of the moment thing, here is the bass tab to Soul Suckin'
Jerk...tune your bass down 1/2 step and you're ready to begin!
Main Bassline

4: 0^3 0^4 0^5
Bass Solo

Single, here is the bassline to that:
1:

4:
And the heavier part goes like this:
1:

THE END!!!
Here is a fairly simple and very underrated song off of Beck's Mellow Gold CD.
Main Bassline (most of the song)
1:
2:
3: 3 5 0 1 1
4: 1 3
There is some weird sitar stuff in the back of this, but feedback works
just fine in place of it. :)
Guitar Solo
(actually played on synth but it sounds cool on a guitar w/heavy flanger)
1: 0 1
2: 5 7 2 2 3
3: 5 5 7 2 3 3 2 2
4: 5 7 7 3 3 3

Play twice, then the outro is just E A F# A
The End!!
Ok, so my brother gave me this to add. It should be alright. It is purely
a functional tab but it is mostly correct. Any mistakes in it are
probably in my interpretation of what i have got written on paper in front
of me.
The song is in standard tunning.
There are 3 simple phrases
1.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The phrases are in the following order:
1 2 1 2 (chords start) 1 3
Repeting 1 and 3 throughout.
The chords are
for phrase 1 and 2
C# G# F#
for phrase 3
D#
Ok that`s it. Enjoy.
This isn't as difficult as it sounds, since even though a slide is used, it
is played in standard tuning.
The intro has two guitar tracks and numerous vocal tracks. I tabbed it for
one guitar, since the two parts are pretty much the same.
Intro (w/slide):
3: 14 7 14\ 7 (7)/(14) 14\ (14) 14
4: 14 14\(7) 7/(14) (14)\ 7 (7) (7)/(14) 14\(7) 7/(14) 14\ (7)
3: /(14) 14\ /(14) 14\ /(14) 14\ /(14) 14\ /(9)~~~
4: /(14) 14\(7) 7/(14) 14\(7) 7/(14) 14\(7) 7/(14) 14\(7) 7/(9)~~~
(turn on destortion, get some feedback, make noise, then)
Rest of song (w/out slide):
4: 7 7 /12 12 12
5: 7 7 /12 12 12
6: 5 5 /10 10 10
play 8x then:
3: 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9
4: 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9
5: 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7
The song completely falls apart at 1 minute 28 seconds. Make noise from
there out.

Note: The guitar on this is tuned down one step, as it is on a lot of songs
on this album. Is anyone has transcribed any more Beck songs, let me know.

The second guitar part is just kind of improvised
