But hey hey summer rose, did you wither long ago?

Did you shed your peddles like my teeth upon this road?
G# G# D# Fm
Or are you walking barefoot down your stairs,
C# G# D#
Spinning records, red rose in your hair?
C# G# G# D# Fm
And do you smile gently while the rest just make amends?
C# G# D# G# D# Fm
If I get to Ohio, hope I see you smile again.

C# G# Fm D#
Well hey hey summer rose, did you wither long ago?
C# G# Fm D#
Did you shed your peddles like my teeth upon this road,
G# G# D# Fm
Where I can see the sun burn through the clouds,
C# G# D#
and I can feel this heater burning out?
C# G# G# D# Fm
And I can think of everywhere that I have never been.
C# G# D# G#
If I get to Ohio, hope I never leave again.
C# G# D# G#
But if I get to Ohio, hope I never leave again.
**TIP: When you're going from a G# chord to a D# and then an Fm chord like when he
sings "I grew up as your friend" in the beginning, you don't need to play the big E-
string with the D# chord. Instead, simply take your middle finger off the D-
string and place it on the 2nd fret of the A-
string when your going from a G# chord to an Fm chord. This transition is used in alot
of songs, and is al so in this one at times.
